Thirst-quenching Mango Lemonade, a refreshing non-alcoholic summer drink recipe with no refined sugar added. It's extremely easy to make with only 5 simple ingredients, and it's healthy, delicious and a real treat on a hot summer's day.
A cold refreshing drink can't be beaten on a hot day, it's the best thing to cool you down! Sure, you can grab a can of fizz, but how about making your own delicious, refreshing and guilt-free drink that takes 5 minutes to make?
For me, adding refined sugar in a homemade drink defeats the purpose of making a good drink. Refined sugar is refined sugar, regardless if it comes from a store-bought drink or a homemade one.
There are lots of better and tastier options, and while I opted for the agave nectar for its delicate sweetness, honey or maple syrup are as good. Plus, the agave nectar dissolves really well in cold water, so the sweetness doesn't just silk to the bottom of the jar.
This lemonade is just so good! So grab a deliciously ripe and sweet mango, a lemon, a few fresh mint leaves, some cold water and agave nectar, and let's make a drink that you can serve at a backyard bbq, a lovely family gathering or any other occasion.

Ingredients used
- mango - a nice ripen juicy mango, not-quite-ripe mangoes are not only sour, but also very stringy, so they won't make a good lemonade
- lemon - I used the juice of a whole lemon for this recipe
- agave nectar - it has a subtle sweetness that balances out the tanginess of the lemon
- mint leaves - add a nice boost of freshness
- cold water - I used 3 cups for this recipe
Easy swaps
The agave nectar can be swapped for honey, maple syrup or any other syrup of your choice. Or indeed some sugar, although that wouldn't be my first choice.
Fresh mango blitz into puree can be swapped for canned mango puree, although that one might have sugar added, so you will have to adjust the amount of syrup added in case you need to use less.
How to make mango lemonade
- Peel and chop the mango into chunks
- Add the chunks to a blender and blitz until smooth
- Add the mango puree to a jug together with the agave nectar, squeezed lemon juice and mint leave
- Give everything a good stir
- Pour 3 cups of cold water, and mix well to combine
- Serve with ice
Expert tips
Proper ripe mangos turn into a really smooth puree, there is no need to pass it through a sieve for the lemonade, although fruit bits are usually pretty nice in a drink.
The jug I used only took 3 cups of water, if you use a pitcher or a larger jug, just adjust the amount of ingredients used accordingly, otherwise they flavours won't be as strong.
