Mango and Banana Smoothie, a creamy and nutritious drink that is big on fantastic flavours. It's the perfect cold drink on a hot summer's day, and it's ready in no time with only 4 ingredients.

I love fruit of any kind, and bananas and mangoes are definitely amongst my favourite. Bananas are probably the most popular fruit around the world, their sweet taste making them an easy snack with little ones too.
If you are a gym person and like being active, you'll be happy to know that bananas are recommended before a workout. Other health benefits include: lower blood pressure, healthy heart, boosting good mood and an overall healthy body.
Mango is known as "the king of fruits" for its exquisite flavour, being packed with vitamin C, B6, A, to name a few. And they are at their best at this time of the year, so you'll see lots of mango recipes from me.
My Mango Ice Lollies are a great treat for all ages, being made with fresh ingredients and no refined sugar added, while my Mango Ice Cream Recipe and Mango Custard are some seriously delicious puddings to enjoy all summer long.

What is a smoothie?
A smoothie is a fruit and/or vegetable-based drink that has a liquid base of juice and/or milk or different dairy and non-dairy products.
Smoothies are super easy to prepare, all you need is a blender and nothing else. How simple is that! Because mangoes and bananas have a smooth creamy texture, there is no need to add too much milk or yogurt.
For my smoothie all you need is: one ripe mango, one ripe banana, half a cup of juice and half a cup of milk.

How to make a banana and mango smoothie?
- peel and chop the mango and banana into chunks
- add them to the food processor together with the milk and juice
- blitz until smooth

Easy swaps
You can also add ice or freeze the banana before making the smoothie. I don't like my drinks too cold, so I only added a bit of cold milk and that was just perfect for me.
Also, no need to added refined sugar, as these fruit have a high amount of naturally occurring sugar. Adding refined sugar would be against of the very idea of a healthy smoothie for breakfast. Plus, if you use ripen fruit, the drink will be sweet enough anyway.
If you don't have ripen mango, canned mango puree can also be used. Milk can be swapped for yogurt or any dairy-free alternatives such as soya or coconut milk, although, of course, you get a slightly different taste.
Simple, filling, delicious! What a drink this is! Do give it a go!

I love smoothies too. With banana and mango I tend to blend it very well, to make it super creamy and smooth, to avoid such inconvenience 🙂 Glad you like it! 🙂
