Cooking fish in the air fryer is so simple, as the cooking time is way reduced compared to the time it would take in the oven, not to mention how economical it is, since less energy is used in the air fryer.

Ingredients used

- salmon fillets - I used fresh fillets, if you have frozen fish, it will have to be thawed beforehand, otherwise the cooking time will be different
- butter - I prefer salted butter for savoury recipes, it will have to be soft in order to mix it with the garlic and herbs
- fresh herbs - fresh parsley and dill are my absolute favourite herbs, I used them in pretty much any dish I make and they go really well with fish, but other fresh herbs of your choice can be used too
- garlic - you can never go wrong with garlic, I used 3 cloves, but feel free to use more. The garlic has to be minced or finely chopped
- salt & pepper - to taste
Step-by-step photos and instructions
- chop the parsley and dill and mince the garlic
- add them to the soft butter and mix everything well into a paste
- season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper, top them with the butter mixture
- arrange them onto the air fryer drawer, and air fryer at 200 degrees Celsius (390 Fahreneheit) for 12 minutes

Expert tips
This garlic herb butter salmon is more like a deconstructed salmon Kiev, it uses the same flavours as the classic chicken Kiev, and it's incredibly flavourful.
Do not throw away the melted butter that drips at the bottom of the air fryer drawer, it's packed with rich garlic and herb flavours, and it can be served as a sauce with the fillets. It also keeps the fish juicy and moist.
I served these salmon fillets with air fryer asparagus and tomatoes, I used the separate air fryer drawer I have to cook them. Just drizzle them with a bit of olive oil, season with salt, and cook for the same amount of it as the fish.
