Juicy Oven Baked Pork Steaks with a hint of rosemary and Worcestershire sauce, a fantastic dinner recipe that is ready in under 25 minutes. The pork steaks are seared for a golden brown touch, then finished off in the oven to make them tender and delicious. A winning recipe with everyone in the family!
If you like pork chops, you will absolutely love these wonderfully juicy and tender pork steaks. They are boneless and thinner, so they cook really quickly, which means they make an excellent midweek dinner idea.
Although you can cook them entirely in the oven, I prefer searing them first, as that gives them more flavour, and a deeper brown colour which is way more appealing. After all, we eat with our eyes too!
For leaner steaks, I recommend removing some of the fat around them, leaving just enough for some good flavour. Remember, fat does equal deeper and richer flavour, so keeping some of it is quite necessary.

Ingredients used
- pork steaks - I removed the fat around the steaks, but it's entirely optional, if you wish to keep it, you can
- rosemary - I used fresh rosemary, but dried is absolutely fine too
- oil - for searing the steaks
- salt and pepper - to taste
- Worcestershire sauce - or soy sauce if you don't have any
Step-by-step photos and instructions
- Heat up the oil in a frying pan set on a medium to high heat until screaming hot
- Add the pork steaks and season with salt and pepper, working in batches not to overcrowd the pan
- Sear on each side for 2 minutes, then remove them from the pan and arrange them onto an oven-proof dish
- Drizzle the Worcestershire sauce over the steaks, and season with more pepper if needed
- Top with the rosemary springs and bake for 10-12 minutes until the steaks are tender
- Remove from the oven, and allow the steaks to rest for a few minutes before serving
Expert tips
If you do not wish to sear the steaks before baking, that's absolutely fine. However, the cooking time in the oven will be increased to 20-25 minutes.
Alternatively, if you want to cook the steaks on the cooker only, decrease the heat to a medium, so that the steaks don't brown too quickly. Leave them to cook on each side for 8-10 minutes.
You can also cook the steaks in the air fryer - once seared, they will only need 8-10 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius, or 15 minutes without searing.
What to serve with pork steaks
We served these pork steaks with couscous and a simple tomato and cucumber salad, and that was absolutely delicious! A complete meal that was healthy, and ticked all the boxes with all of us.
You can also go for mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, boiled baby potatoes, bulgur wheat, pearl barley to name a few, but the sky really is the limit here.
As for salads, you can go for a simple green salad, pasta salads like my Greek pasta salad, potato salad or a nice Tabbouleh salad.
