A super easy Pumpkin Spice Latte Recipe made with homemade pumpkin spice syrup, milk and black coffee, and topped with whipped cream and a touch of pumpkin spice, an indulgent hot drink that tastes like Fall and coziness. Making your own pumpkin spice latte is a lot easier than you would think, and it's a lot more delicious than an overly sugary hot drink in a cafe.
I can't think of a better flavour to describe Autumn than with pumpkin spice. From early September until well into Winter, pumpkin spice wraps you around in its earthy aroma and spoilts your taste buds with its indulgent and comforting feel.
And a first sign of Autumn ariving is the pumpkin spice drinks that cafes have in offer. While I do like having a lovely hot drink in a nice and cozy cafe, most of these flavoured hot drinks tend to be a bit too sugary for my like, so I prefer a regular hot drink instead.
But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy a good pumpkin spice hot drink, if you make it yourself, you know exactly what goes in there, how sweet you like it, and how hot you like it. This homemade pumpkin spice latte is a dream come true for coffee lovers!
The base of my pumpkin spice latte is my homemade pumpkin spice syrup, which gives all the Fall flavour to your latte. You then only need a strong black coffee and milk or plant-based milk to top it up.
Cream and pumpkin spice, while optional, do add to the indulegent touch, but that's entirely optional. As long as you have the basic 3 ingredients: pumpkin spice syrup, coffee and milk, you are good to go!

Expert tips
The amounts of syrup, coffee and milk depend entirely on the cup/glass you use. For my cup I added 3 tablespoons of syrup, topped with enough black coffee to have a half full glass, then added milk to the top.
This is entirely my own taste, you can add more coffee, if you are not too keen on a milky drink, or more milk, if you don't like a strong coffee taste. The cream is optional, you can either use squirty cream or freshly-whippped cream.
