Air Fryer Pumpkin-Spice Granola with no refined sugar added, a delicious breakfast recipe that is full of goodness and has a wonderful Fall touch. It's made with rolled oats, walnuts, pecans, pumpkin and sunflower seeds, almond flakes and mixed dried fruit, a good helping of pumpkin pie spice and maple syrup. Quick and easy to make, this is a fantastic breakfast option for all ages.

Inspired by my homemade granola with no refined sugar added, this delicious pumpkin-spice granola is air fried rather than oven roasted, and has a cosy touch of Fall that is absolutely delicious.
I absolutely love anything that has pumpkin spice added in it, be it a nice breakfast drink, like a pumpkin spice latte, or an indulgent pumpkin spice hot chocolate, a lovely slice of classic pumpkin pie or pumpkin banana bread.
I have so many pumpkin spice recipes on the blog, I couldn't possibly list them all here, but you can check them all out in the Fall/ Thanksgiving recipes category. This wonderful blend of spices is so aromatic, it's hard not to be tempted to add it to literally everything.
Many commercial granolas are so high in sugars, refined grains and calories, that they are left with very little nutritional value, and instead turn into highly calorific products that no one needs to breafkast.
Making your own is so much better, healthier and easier than you'd think. Use wholesome ingredients, and you will never go back to the store-bough granola! Still, like with everything else, it is best to portion control your breakfast, large amounts of granola can be calorie dense.
This granola is naturally vegan and vegetarian friendly, and it's best served with natural yogurt for a great start of the day!

Ingredients overview

- rolled oats - hold their shape well and give crunchier granola than the regular porridge oats
- pecans, walnuts and almond flakes - add a good crunch and boost of goodness
- sunflower and pumpkin seeds - add a good texture and extra goodness
- mixed dried fruit - I used a mix of sultanas, raisins, cranberries and currants
- pumpkin spice - if you don't have pumpkin spice you can make your own mix with ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, ground cloves and ground allspice
- maple syrup - a much better choice than refined sugar, it also acts as a binding agent
- oil - I used sunflower oil, but you can use any plant-based oil of your choice, coconut oil is a good choice too
Nutrition Spotlight

Step-by-step photos and instructions
- in a large bowl, add the roughly-chopped walnuts, pecans, almond flakes, sunflower and pumpkin seeds and oats
- mix well, then add the maple syrup, pumpkin spice and oil
- give it a good stir, then line the mixture onto the air fryer drawer
- air fry for 20 minutes at 140 degrees Celsius (284 Fahrenheit), shaking the drawer well half the way through
- add the dried fruit, and mix everything well, then air fry for a further 10 minutes
- remove from the air fryer, spread the mixture onto a tray, and allow it to cool down completely

Expert tips
The granola won't be very crunch when it comes out of the air fryer, but once it cools down completely, it becomes beautifully crunchy with the crisp clusters that we love.
Do not add the dried fruit to the air fryer from the beginning, they tend to burn easily and turn bitter, which really spoils the taste of the whole granola.
Once it cools down, store it into an air-tight container, it still last well for 2-3 weeks, although I must say mine never lasts that long, we usually eat it up in a few days, it's super delicious!

Notes
- the granola won't feel crunchy as soon as it comes out of the air fryer, but don't worry, it will, as soon as it cools down completely
- avoid adding the dried fruit to the air fryer from the beginning, it will burn and turn bitter
- once the granola has cooled down, add it to an air-tight container, I prefer a jar, it keeps well for 2-3 weeks
