Mango Lassi with Canned Mango Pulp, a refreshing non-alcoholic drink to enjoy in the hot season, but also all year round. It's creamy and incredibly flavourful and super quick and easy to make with just 4 ingredients.

Mangoes are one of my favourite summer fruits, they are wonderfully aromatic and sweet and juicy, perfect to enjoy on its on or use in many drinks and desserts, baked, no-bake or frozen treats.
And this mango lassi is one of my absolute favourite non-alcoholic drinks, the mango flavour really comes through so nicely, and the pinch of cardamom used takes it to the very next level.
Another good summer drink that puts mangoes in the spotlight is mango lemonade - it's so light and refreshing, perfect for quenching the thirst when you most need it.
But while the lemonade was made with fresh mangoes blended to a puree, this mango lassi was made with canned mango pulp - I used Kissan, but any other brand would work too.
The advantage of using canned mango pulp is that is easily available all year round, whereas fresh mangoes aren't as good outside their season, but rather exensive and tasteless.
Plus, with a tin of mango pulp I managed to make 3 different recipes: this mango lassi, mango cheesecake popsicles and mango kulfi - it's really convenient and budget-friendly too.

Ingredients overview

- mango pulp - if you don't have canned mango pulp, just use a fresh mango and blend it into a puree
- yogurt - a lot of recipes call for plain yogurt, but I prefer using Greek yogurt, it makes the mango lassi so much creamier and richer
- milk - I used full-fat milk for a better taste and creamier texture
- ground cardamon - I can't recommend it enough, it really makes all the difference in this drink, it's incredibly aromatic and works so well with the mango flavour
Step-by-step photos and instructions
- in a jug or large mixing bowl, add the mango pulp, yogurt, milk and cardamom
- use a whisk to mix everything really well
- chill the drink in the fridge for at least 1 hour for all the flavours to mix well
- serve it with ice cubes or just chilled

Expert tips
Mango lassi is one of those drinks that have to be served cold, or you just don't get the same experience anymore! Refrigerating the drink not only allows it to get to the right temperature, but also allows the flavours to proper blend.
You can also add ice cubes to it to make it extra refreshing on a hot summer's day, but that's optional. Just don't have it at room temperature, it really won't be the same.
I highly recommend using full-fat dairy products here, you get a much more creamier, richer and tastier drink than if you go for the low fat versions - I for one don't believe in low/no-fat dairy products, but that's just me.
Since the canned mango pulp already has sugar added, I did not add refined sugar to the drink - however, if you wish, you can add some granulated sugar or sweetener to taste.
You can also turn this mango lassi into ice lollies / popsicles , my mango lassi ice lollies are made with fresh mango and have no refined sugar added, which makes them ideal for 6 months + babies, toddlers and kids of all ages too.
