Baked Paprika Potato Wedges with a touch of garlic powder, the best side dish that goes wonderfully well with any roast, burgers, meat sandwiches or wraps, or just on their own. Serve them with your choice of sauce, and you are in for a treat. Great choice for Game Day, or just a nice meal.
Who doesn't like some potato wedges? Golden-brown, hot, delicious, oh heavens above! The are the perfect side for any roast, burger, and anything meat, and are way more delicious than any take-away wedges. And a lot healthier too.
Baked in the oven with just a little bit of oil makes them nice and crispy on the outside, but fantastically tender on the inside. And that lovely spicy coating with paprika and garlic granules, a super winner!
I used regular paprika, but spicy paprika or smoked paprika would also be a great choice if you want to give them a spicy kick. Also, cayenne pepper or just some chilli pepers would work well here.
Any seasoning is great, and you can play with quite a few in order to achieve the level of spiciness you are after. Or just a nice flavour.
Step-by-step photos and instructions
A few tricks, and you get to enjoy some seriously yummy potato wedges every single time. I don't bother peeling the potatoes, but I do give them a good rinse before cutting them.
- make sure to pat dry the potatoes after rinsing them
We want them completely dry before coating them with oil and spices. This will ensure they stay crispy and they bake evenly.
- cut the potato into wedges, add them to a freezer baking together with the oil and seasoning, and give the bag a good shake to ensure an even coating
- don't overcrowd the baking tray, otherwise the wedges will be way too soft, and not crispy on the outside
- bake at 220 degrees Celsius, 430 Fahrenheit
- the wedges should be ready in about 35 minutes, but do keep an eye on them every so often, and give them a good shake
A side dish for everything
Baking is the way to go when it comes to potatoes, any way shapes or sizes. My Crispy Baked Fries are a regular side with us, my kids love them, and are so much healthier and tastier than some greasy take-away fries.

Paprika Potato Wedges
Ingredients
- 4 potatoes (large)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin)
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Wash the potatoes with cold water, pat them dry with kitchen towel, then cut them into wedges. You can peel the skin off, if you wish, but I prefer it on.
- Place the wedges in a re-sealable plastic bag together with all the other ingredients.
- Seal the bag and give it a good shake, so that they wedges get coated nicely.
- Preheat the oven to 220 degrees C (430 Fahrenheit).
- Place the wedges onto a roasting tray and bake for 35 minutes or until crisp and golden-brown.
- Serve with the sauce of your choice.
