Chinese Stir Fry Sauce made with a few simple ingredients, a basic recipe for all your Asian cooking. The sauce is ready in a few seconds, and it's just a matter of mixing ingredients together. It's so much better than any ready-made sauces, and a lot tastier too.

Homemade cooking doesn't have to be exhausting and over complicated. I know it's easier to get the ready-made stuff to cut down on the cooking time, especially when time is short. And sometimes, the shop-bought sauces really are a life-saver.
But when it comes to this super simple stir fry sauce, there is zero effort and hardly any prep involved. If you have the basic ingredients to make it, then all you have to do is mix them together. And that's it!

Ingredients needed

If for the stir fry itself the 3 basic ingredients: spring onions, garlic and ginger make the best base, for the sauce we need only a few ingredients too:
- light soy sauce - this one adds flavour and sharpness, and it's the very basic ingredient for any Asian dish
- dark soy sauce - it adds colour and has a thicker consistency
- sesame oil - it's flavourful, and gives a delicate kick to any dish
- rice vinegar- adds sharpness
- sugar - to balance the acidity of the vinegar
Step-by-step instructions
If you don't have light sauce and dark sauce separately, you can use the regular soy sauce.
The amounts needed from each ingredient: 2 tablespoons of light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil, 1 tablespoon of rice vinegar and a teaspoon of sugar.
Of course, you can tweak these amounts to your own liking, these are the amounts that work well for me, but you can make it sweeter by adding more sugar, or add more vinegar or a sharper kick.
Once everything is mixed together, add them to the stir fry pan, and mix with the rest of the ingredients. And job done! It's so easy, yet so good!

What to use the Chinese stir fry sauce for
I use this sauce for any kind of stir fry, be it with rice or noodles, vegan, vegetarian or meat-based one. A few of my dishes I used it for: vegetarian option: Vegetable Noodle Stir Fry, chicken: Quick Chicken and Asparagus Stir Fry, seafood: Spicy Shrimp Stir-Fry with Noodles and many more.
It can also be used as a dipping sauce for various dishes, I used it for my Pan-Fried King Scallops with Chinese Brown Sauce and it was absolutely beautiful, it works amazingly well with seafood particularly.
No need to waste money on ready-made packets that don't deliver when it comes to taste, now you can make your own sauce. Plus, it's a lot cheaper, once you get the bottles, you can use them so many times. Enjoy!
