Air Fryer Sausage and Potatoes, a comforting and cozy family-dinner recipe that is budget-friendly, incredibly easy to make, and always a crowd pleaser. Golden potato wedges that are beautifully fluffy on the inside, and delicious sausages, all cooked in the same air fryer drawer.

If you like the idea of cooking everything in one air fryer drawer without having to deal with lots of pots and pans, this recipe is exactly what you need. The potatoes and sausages are ready at the same time and are as good as it gets.
Air fryer are a fantastic invention, aren't they?I absolutely love mine, which is a Tefal Dual Air Fryer, with one main drawer, which is large, perfect for cooking a large meal, and a smaller drawer, which is great for veggies or smaller bits.
I am slowly but surely increasing my air fryer recipes list, and I use it for pretty much anything, from starters, to mains, sides and desserts too. But for this sausage and potato dish you only need one air fryer drawer, so even if you don't have a dual one, you can easily cook it.
Potatoes take a longer time to cook than sausages, which means they will have to go in first, and the sausages follow about half the way through, and then finish cooking at the same time.
And you get a dinner that even fussy eaters, kids included absolutely love - my 3 kids did amazingly well here, and mummy was more than pleased. Don't you love it when you make something that everyone enjoys?!

Ingredients used

- potatoes - just use whatever potatoes you have in, you don't need anything in particular
- sausages - I used pork sausages, although you can use any other sausages, beef, turkey, plant-based etc
- salt & ground black pepper - for seasoning the potatoes
- ground paprika & garlic granules - for extra flavour
- oil - it helps cook the potatoes and sausages evenly and helps them get a nice colour
Step-by-step photos and instructions
- peel and cut the potatoes into wedges
- add them to a large mixing bowl together with the salt, pepper, paprika and garlic granules
- add one tablespoon of oil, and shake the bowl really well for the potatoes to be nicely coated
- transfer them to the air fryer drawer and air fry for 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (390 Fahrenheit)

- cut the sausages into chunks of 2 inches, and add them to the potatoes
- drizzle more oil over, shake the air fryer drawer well, increase the air fryer temperature to 200 degrees Celsius (390 Fahrenheit) and cook for a further 20-25 minutes

Expert tips
The potatoes do not need parboiling, they can go raw in the air fryer, and you will still get beautifully cooked potatoes that are crispy and golden on the outside, and fluffy on the inside.
I also made Air Fryer Loaded Potato Wedges using the same technique, and they worked beautifully too. Just make sure you use oil, so they can get that lovely golden crust you want.
I opted for a mild seasoning as I was cooking it for the kids too, but you can go for a spicy kick to if you wish - just swap the sweet paprika for hot paprika or cayenne pepper, and you get some good heat.
