Healthy Baked Parsnip Fries, a fantastic side dish for your Christmas dinner or any other occasion. With a nice blend of paprika, garlic and parmesan, these fries will become a family favourite.

  • 5 parsnips
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for greasing the tray
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp grated parmesan
  • 1 tbsp chopped parsley
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius (390 Fahrenheit).

  2. Peel and cut the parnips into sticks.

  3. Mix together the olive oil, paprika, salt, pepper and garlic powder, then drizzle it over the parsnips.

  4. Toss to coat, grease two baking trays with olive oil, then arrange the parsnip sticks in one layer, leaving at least half a centimetre between them.

  5. Bake one tray at a time, first for 15 minutes, then flip the parnip fries on the other side, and bake for a further 2-3 minutes.

  6. Serve hot with parmesan and parsley.
