For the gnocchi and steak bites
- 0.5 kg steak ( 1 lb)
- 100 g fresh gnocchi (1 cup)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
For the tzatziki
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 cup grated cucumber
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon fresh mint, chopped
- juice from one lemon
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
To marinate the steak, cut into into bite-sized chunks and add it to a bowl.
Mix together the olive oil, soy sauce, minced garlic, salt and pepper, and coat the beef with it.
Leave to marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Thread on a skewer one beef chunk, then one gnocchi, and continue to alternate until you use up all the ingredients - you can get 4-5 skewers.
Grill for 2 minutes or until the beef is cooked to your liking, and the gnocchi is soft.
To make the sauce, use your hands to lightly squeeze the excess liquid from the grated cucumber, then add it to a bowl together with the yogurt, lemon juice, olive oil, mint, salt and pepper.
Give it a good stir, and refrigerate until ready to use.
