Red Velvet Hot Chocolate

Red Velvet Hot Chocolate, a bloody-good Halloween drink made with only 4 simple ingredients: milk, white chocolate, cream and red food-colouring. Spookily indulgent and sweet, this is Dracula's new drink of choice.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 bar white chocolate (90 g, 3 oz)
  • ½ teaspoon red food colouring - paste
  • whipped cream to decorate

Instructions

  • Add the milk to a sauce pan and break the chocolate into pieces.
  • Bring it to a medium heat and stir until the chocolate melts and the milk is hot, but not boiling.
  • Add the red food colouring, and mix well to disolve
  • Top with cream.

Notes

  • I highly recommend using good quality white chocolate - it might sound like a clique, but the better the quality, the tastier the drink.
  • And for the love of Dracula, please don't add any sugar to this hot chocolate, the white chocolate is sweet as it is, and in combination with the naturally-sweet milk, that's more than enough sugar.
  • Cream is optional, although it does make the drink look better, and adds a silky touch to the hot chocolate. You can use either whipped cream or squirty cream, that's up to you. Do give this blood hot chocolate a go, you'll love it!
