No need for a noodle/pasta maker, you can make delicious egg noodles just using a rolling pin. You can use them fresh, or dry them up for later use, it's up to you. These homemade egg noodles are absolutely delicious with any sauce or in a nice stir fry.
Sift the flour, make a well in the middle, and crack the egg in.
Add the flour, then use a fork to bring the ingredients together.
Use you hands to knead it into a dough, kneading for at least 10 minutes, so you can get a smooth dough that does not stick at all to the hands or the work surface.
Cover the dough with clingfilm, and leave to rest for 10-15 minutes.
Dust the work surface with flour, and divide the dough in half.
Use a rolling pin to roll the first half of the dough really thinly.
Roll the dough into a sausage, then slice it thinly with a sharp knife.
Stretch the noodles, and leave them to dry for at least 15 minutes if you use them straight away.
Bring a pot of salted water to the boil, add the noodles, then boil until the noodles are al dente or have the desired texture.
