Green Bean Bundles

Green Bean Bundles wrapped in delicious bacon, and drizzled with a fantastic soy sauce, brown sugar and butter sauce, the perfect appetizer for your Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner. It's quick to make, but big on flavours, and a huge hit with everyone. If you like the classic green bean casserole, you will love these green bean parcels, they are absolutely amazing!

Ingredients

  • 21 fresh green beans
  • 7 smoked streaky bacon rashes (bacon strips)
  • 1 tablespoon melted salted butter
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark brown sugar

Instructions

  • Trim the green beans and rinse them with cold water.
  • Bring a pot of salted water to the boil, add the green beans and boil for 5 minutes or until just tender.
  • Drain the water, rinse them again with cold water, and set aside.
  • Arrange the bacon rashes on baking tray, and bake them in the preheated oven at 200 degrees Celsius (390 Fahrenheit) for 5 minutes.
  • Wrap 3 green beans with a bacon rash, and carefully arrange the bundle on the baking tray.
  • Repeat with the remaining greens and bacon.
  • To make the sauce, mix the melted butter, soy sauce and sugar, and drizzle it all over the bundles.
  • Bake for a further 15 minutes or until the bacon is nice and crispy.

Notes

You can add more green beans to your bundles and secure them with a toothpick if necessary.
