  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cup full-fat milk
  • 1/4 cup butter (50 g)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp dijon mustard
  • 1 cup golden bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp plain flour
  1. Cook the macaroni according to the packet instructions.

  2. While the pasta is cooking, add half of the amount of butter to a large pan, and melt on a low to medium heaat.

  3. Add the flour and whisk well to get a smooth paste.

  4. Gradually add the milk, whisking well to avoid lumps, and continue to whisk until it thickens into a sauce.

  5. Season with salt and pepper, add the dijon mustard and cheeses, and stir well to get a creamy sauce.

  6. Remove from the heat.

  7. When the macaroni is cooked, drain the water, and add them to the sauce. Mix well.

  8. Butter an oven-proof dish, then add the cheesy macaroni to it.

  9. To make the topping, melt the remaining butter in a pan, add the bread crumbs and mix well.

  10. Spread the crumbs all over the macaroni.

  11. Bake in the pre-heated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (350 Fahrenheit) for 10-15 minutes or until bubbly hot.
