Traditional Hot Cross Buns Recipe, sweet, lightly spiced, and so fluffy, the very best Easter treat.

INGREDIENTS: – flour – sugar – yeast – cinnamon – salt – full-fat milk – butter – 1 egg – emon – currants –  water –  apricot jam

In a large bowl, sift in the flour

Add the currants, sugar, lemon zest, yeast and cinnamon

Lightly beat the egg with a pinch of salt, and add it to the milk and melted butter

Add the mixture to the flour bowl and knead well for at least 5 minutes until you get an elastic dough that does not stick to the hands.

Leave the dough to prove, then shape it into buns, and leave them to prove again

Using a piping bag, pipe a cross on each bun, then bake until golden brown.

So delicious and baked to perfect!
